Indian Railways 2- Online booking of tickets

   It is good that the Indian Railways relaxed the time for online reservation of tickets up to 11 p.m. every day instead of the original 8 p.m. it started with. I have wondered all along why at all there is time restriction on on-line booking. I have not heard of any on- line ticket reservation system other than 24/ 7. As a customer of Indian Railways, may we know why this feature (actually a terrible constraint for the traveler), only in Indian Railway booking system?

I saw a recent board telling: 24 hour ATM – working hours 8 am to 8 pm!
